Aaand we are back at it again with another celebrity skincare secret! What can we say? We can’t help it! As soon as I heard that Vogue dropped another video of Kendall Jenner’s DIY face mask, I was ready on my keyboard, tea-spelling all the secrets!
Kendall Jenner welcomed us all to her bathroom and gave us a guide into a healthy avocado face mask and her glam process. And honestly, it looks effortless! Although she admitted that she grew up as a tomboy who didn’t wear makeup as much as her sister, Kylie. She still managed to learn enough techniques for a beautiful look.
How can you not when all your sisters are all about glam, Kendall?
Jenner also said that her skin had its moment of breakout and acne, so she went through a lot, learning what works for her best, and this DIY face mask helped her greatly. She also said that she reduced her dairy consumption (except cheese because she loves it so much), and that made a lot of difference! Without further ado, let’s get right into the recipe of her face mask that is “super fun to make and super easy”, as she claims.
Jenner’s avocado-honey face mask
It goes without saying that avocados have countless beauty benefits – it’s been used for centuries on the skin due to their impressive vitamin profile.
In case you don’t know, avocados are a great source of vitamins A, E, C, B, K, and folate, which manage photodamage on the skin while warding off free radicals for younger, acne-free skin. The fatty acids, on the other hand, moisturize and feed the skin while keeping it smooth. So, what are you still doing, preventing your face from these incredible benefits?
Kendall adds raw honey and oats to the face mask, too, which is a smart idea because both these ingredients provide various benefits, anti-inflammatory properties, and hydrating benefits. In the end, she adds a few drops of lavender essential oil to the mask, which research shows that it can calm irritated skin. However, you must make sure that your skin is not sensitive to potent oils, which in that case, you can leave it out completely.
Here is the full breakdown:
- 1 ripe avocado.
- 1 to 2 tbsp of honey.
- Oatmeal mixed with some water (perhaps a couple of tablespoons).
- 1 to 2 drops of lavender essential oil (optional).
Mash the oatmeal and avocado together in a bowl, add the honey once they are mixed, then finish with the lavender essential oil. “And that’s pretty much it!” she says happily!
You see? It’s truly effortless and with ingredients that you already have in your kitchen. Wear it on your face proudly, like Kendal does, for 10 to 20 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water. Your skin will feel great and you will be glowing.
This Jenner’s DIY face mask is suitable to use before putting on makeup, in the morning or at the end of day, after you clean the day’s dirt and stress off. Giving a chance to your face to “eat” and breathe will pay off immediately. If you never did a face mask, then you are missing out on the wonders they provide!
