Dull, dry, and lifeless are the three words you hope to never describe your skin. Still, due to dry weather, sun damage, and hormonal change, you find yourself staring at your mirror wondering why, in God’s name, does your skin look like you haven’t been putting tons of expensive lotions on it for the past 10 years!

You are not alone, sis! I have been down that hole many times, and counting… But here is one thing I’ve learned: The expensive cleansers and moisturizers work great, sure. But sometimes, your skin longs for some nature’s love and ingredients that never have side effects!

The good news? Most of skin-saving treatments I brought for you today are already sitting in your pantry right now. Don’t believe me? Keep reading and don’t forget to try them out.
I promise you glowing, youthful skin in no time!

1- Aloe vera

Aloe Vera, the most popular plant of this century! Haven’t you notice that it’s included in almost all skin and hair products? There is surely a reason for that, and I am here to tell you how to get the best out of it naturally.

Aloe Vera is packed with antioxidants, vitamins A, E, and healthy enzymes, which is why it can replace your face lotion, soothes sunburns, and heals cuts effectively. But the best part about Aloe Vera is the fact that it can be absorbed quickly into the skin and never cause breakouts on oily skin… it’s like magic!

How to use: If you have an Aloe Vera plant, then you can easily (and carefully!) open up one of the leaves, get all the fluids out, and then apply to your skin (it’s completely safe!).
Although, the easiest way is to use an over-the-counter Aloe Vera gel that is 100% natural.

2- Honey

Honey is not only for your cornbread and pancakes; it is also for your skin! If you are dealing with dry skin or looking for natural acne treatment, honey is exactly what you need.

The raw, unpasteurized honey acts as an acne treatment, moisturizer, exfoliator, dead-skin remover, and more. By working with your natural immune system, it will minimize irritation and inflammation, as well as get rid of acne-causing bacteria. As a bonus, the honey will lighten your acne scars! You will be amazed! Thank you, bees!

How to use: You can apply the raw honey on your face directly, or add other ingredients for extra benefits.

Acne treatment:

  • 3 parts honey
  • 1 part cinnamon

Leave for 8 to 10 minutes, then rinse it off.

  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon of honey
  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil

Rinse it off after 10 minutes for exfoliated and moisturized skin.

I recommend: Raw & Unfiltered Honey

3- Milk

Yes, milk! We owe the animals so much, don’t ya think? Anyway, milk is one of my favorite ingredients mainly because it’s always in my fridge, which means I can always count on it for glowing skin on-the-go! The milk can perfectly nourish the skin and moisturize it, and since summer is gone, you might want to de-tan, and milk is the solution!

How to use: Do you have full fat milk? Great. Now just splash it on your face (in any way you want) then pet dry. That’s it! Make sure to do it twice a day and regularly for great results!

4- Bananas

Many people underestimate the powers of this yellow fruit, but not me! Bananas are great moisturizers and can effectively nourish your skin better and quicker than all of the expensive skincare products.

Bananas are a rich source of vitamin A, C E, and potassium, which work all together to hydrate and moisturize the skin, protect it from free radicals and evens out the skin tone. Basically, bananas are your skin’s best friend!

How to use: Mash a ripe banana, massage your skin with it, and then rinse off after 10 minutes. For more benefits, you can add honey. It’s best to use a ripe banana as it has more beneficial effects than an unripe one.

5- Olive oil

Olive oil doesn’t really need an introduction because, as we all know, it has been known to be rich with vitamins and nutrients that the human body can’t survive without. And now we came to realize that our skin can’t, too!

However, there is something you need to do: avoid cheap olive oils! You have to opt for organic, natural extra virgin olive oil for the best benefits possible and to guarantee your skin’s safety. Also, it’s best to avoid olive oil if you are prone to acne because it clogs pores in some skin types.

How to use: Simply apply directly to your skin and leave it on till your skin absorbs it all or rinse it off after 20 or 30 minutes. You can also blend it with grapeseed oil, almond oil, or lavender oil that are crafted for skin treatment. A few drops would be enough!

And now that you have these precious natural nourishers, you shouldn’t hesitate to give them a try and watch your skin comes back to life quickly and naturally. After all, happier skin means happier you!
